It’s amazing the number of useful tools that are available out there that perhaps only the professionals know about, but would be very handy for the home handyman. One of those is an angled brad gun, also referred to as either an angled brad nailer or an angled bradder.

A brad gun is a type of nail gun, but shoots thinner nails known as brads. This type of nail gun is most suitable for the more delicate types of fastening jobs around the home. Perfect for putting in the beading work I have to do on the interior doors in our house, but equally appropriate for cabinetry or doing close work around glass.

The choice I had to make, though was whether to buy a normal, standard type of brad gun which would do the job for nailing regular brads in normal, easy to get to spots, or whether to buy an angled bradder which I could use to reach angled corners and other cornice type of mouldings.

What it would mean would be that I would just have to be careful to nail the brads in straight when doing the standard nailing. So that’s what I bought, a nice little Paslode angled brad nail gun that works a treat. As it turned out, there were some tight angles that I maybe could have worked around with a standard brad gun, but the angled bradder made the task a complete no brainer.
